From launching key compensation initiatives and infrastructure projects to hosting high-level discussions with global and regional partners, the President’s agenda underscored a hands-on leadership approach in addressing both local and national priorities.

Monday, May 26 – Justice for Communities and Tech Partnerships

President Ruto began his week in Meru National Park, launching the Sh950 million compensation programme for victims of human-wildlife conflict. The initiative is part of a broader strategy that includes operationalising the Wildlife Conservation Trust Fund and integrating tech-driven systems to ensure timely and just payouts.

Later at State House, Nairobi, Ruto hosted former UK Prime Minister Tony Blair and a delegation from the Tony Blair Institute, focusing on technology-based solutions to boost agricultural productivity and government efficiency.

“Our objective is to enhance food security and increase efficiency in government by leveraging technology,” said the President.

Tuesday, May 27 – Coastal Development and Land Reforms

In a meeting with leaders from Kenya’s six Coastal counties, President Ruto reaffirmed his government’s commitment to resolving historical land injustices and fast-tracking land titling. He emphasized investments in agriculture, the blue economy, and maritime industries to uplift the region’s economic potential.

“We are keen on uplifting the economy of the Coastal region through our various interventions,” he stated.

Wednesday, May 28 – Unity, Defence and Development Dialogue

At the National Prayer Breakfast held at Safari Park Hotel, the President urged Kenyans to embrace unity, inclusion, and shared prosperity, citing visible signs of economic recovery.

He later inaugurated the 2025 African Chiefs of Defence Conference, where he highlighted the need for a collective African defence architecture to ensure continental stability and growth.

Further meetings included:

  • World Bank: To reaffirm support for Kenya’s Bottom-Up Economic Transformation Agenda.
  • UN-Habitat: On affordable housing and urban development.
  • AIC Bishops: Emphasizing the church’s role in education, healthcare, and national values.

“The Church remains our moral anchor… and a steadfast pillar of compassion and spiritual strength,” he said.

Thursday, May 29 – Affordable Housing and Infrastructure in Nyanza

President Ruto, joined by former Prime Minister Raila Odinga, launched key housing projects in Kisumu, including:

  • Phase I opening and Phase III launch of Makasembo Affordable Housing Project (2,300+ units).
  • Inspection of Lumumba Estate Project (2,384 units).
  • A 40km road project in Ndhiwa, Homa Bay.
  • Launch of Kanyamwa Last Mile Connectivity and Ndhiwa Technical Training Institute.

These projects aim to boost home ownership, enhance mobility, and equip youth with technical skills.

Friday, May 30 – Blue Economy and Regional Development in Homa Bay

President Ruto concluded the week with another day in Homa Bay, again accompanied by Raila Odinga and other leaders, presiding over:

  • Opening of KCB branch at Tom Mboya University.
  • Closure of the Blue Economy Summit.
  • Commissioning of several key projects:
    • Boma Yangu Housing Project (110 units handed over).
    • Modern Fish Market benefiting 400+ traders.
    • Sh500 million Homa Bay Pier to enhance trade and tourism.
    • Rangwe Sub-County HQ and Nyarach-Nyaburi-Oboke Road.
    • Kosiga-Rangwe-Asumbi Water Project, boosting local water supply.
