UAE, Saudi Arabia Sign MoU to Strengthen Anti-Corruption and Governance Cooperation

Abu Dhabi, The Gulf Observer: The UAE Accountability Authority (UAEAA) and Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority (Nazaha) have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) to enhance their strategic partnership in anti-corruption, governance, and the development of advanced oversight systems.

The agreement reflects the close ties between the United Arab Emirates and the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and aligns with both nations’ vision to strengthen institutional cooperation and coordination among Gulf integrity bodies.

The MoU aims to improve the efficiency of government operations, uphold the highest standards of transparency and accountability, and support stability in the region’s economic and administrative environment.

The signing ceremony was attended by Humaid Obaid Khalifa Obaid Abushibs, President of the UAEAA, and Mazin Al-Kahmous, President of Saudi Arabia’s Oversight and Anti-Corruption Authority.

Both parties highlighted the importance of exchanging expertise, building institutional capacity, and establishing permanent channels for technical cooperation, data sharing, and modern oversight practices.

The partnership emphasizes enhancing capabilities in administrative investigations, data-driven analysis, and the use of digital technologies and artificial intelligence. It also includes the development of joint training and professional programs to strengthen national competencies and institutional readiness to meet future challenges, in addition to collaboration in combating cross-border corruption crimes.

The MoU underscores the shared role of the UAE and Saudi Arabia in advancing Gulf cooperation in governance and anti-corruption, reflecting their commitment to creating a pioneering Arab model of integrity, effective oversight, and robust institutional frameworks that support sustainable development.
