Erdogan Calls for Stronger International Response to Israel’s Occupation Policies at Global Summit

Ankara, The Gulf Observer: Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdogan has urged the international community, particularly the United Nations, to take a more forceful stand against Israel’s occupation policies. In a video message delivered on Thursday to the Global Call on the Summit of the Future online event, Erdogan emphasized the upcoming summit as a critical moment for strengthening international solidarity and fostering a more peaceful, secure, and just global system.

Erdogan highlighted the devastating toll of ongoing conflicts, including the situation in Gaza, where over 41,000 people have died, including 17,000 children, with more than 100,000 others injured, and widespread destruction across the region. He stressed the necessity for the international community, especially the UN, to speak out more forcefully against Israel’s actions. “In a world where children are dying from bombs, I openly say that none of us can feel safe,” Erdogan stated.

Asserting Türkiye’s unwavering support for the oppressed, Erdogan reaffirmed his country’s commitment to standing against injustice. He urged summit participants to seize the opportunity presented by UN Secretary-General António Guterres to address pressing global issues such as conflicts, oppression, hunger, and poverty.

President Erdogan also underscored the broader geopolitical challenges, including terrorism, xenophobia, and climate change, using the crisis in Gaza as a stark reminder of the world’s urgent need for a fair and inclusive governance system. He called for a global system that equally represents both developed and developing nations and advocated for a transition to green transformation and climate resilience, ensuring that sustainable development leaves no one behind.

“We must protect our democracies against all forms of hate speech, racism, and extreme right movements that poison our societies,” Erdogan added, emphasizing the need to reshape multilateral governance with a focus on justice and equality.

The president’s remarks reflect Türkiye’s continued call for global reforms and a more robust international response to ongoing humanitarian crises.
