Pakistani PM Expresses Gratitude to Azerbaijan for Solidarity and Support

Baku, The Gulf Observer: Prime Minister of Pakistan Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif received the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Pakistan, Khazar Farhadov, for a meeting underscoring the enduring friendship and deepening strategic partnership between the two nations.

During the meeting, Prime Minister Sharif expressed profound gratitude to President Ilham Aliyev and the brotherly people of Azerbaijan for their steadfast support and solidarity with Pakistan. He described Azerbaijan’s position as a clear reflection of the close friendship, mutual respect, and brotherhood that define the relationship between the two countries.

Discussing recent regional developments and the ceasefire agreement, Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s unwavering commitment to defending its sovereignty and territorial integrity in the face of any potential aggression.

The Prime Minister also highlighted the growing trajectory of bilateral cooperation, noting the significance of President Aliyev’s historic visit to Pakistan in July 2024, which opened new avenues for collaboration in the areas of trade, investment, and economic development. He recalled his own visit to Baku in February 2024, reaffirming Pakistan’s commitment to further advancing the relationship into a comprehensive and robust economic partnership.

Ambassador Farhadov, for his part, emphasized the enduring bond between Azerbaijan and Pakistan, describing the two as friendly and brotherly nations that have consistently supported each other. He conveyed that President Ilham Aliyev places high importance on the relationship with Pakistan and noted the rapid progress in bilateral ties witnessed in recent years.

The meeting concluded with both sides reiterating their shared resolve to continue working closely across various fields to further consolidate and deepen their partnership.
