Kazakhstan Records Highest-Ever Life Expectancy at 75.97 Years

Astana, The Gulf Observer: Kazakhstan has achieved a historic milestone in public health, with average life expectancy rising to 75.97 years in 2025—the highest level recorded since the country gained independence.

According to the Ministry of Healthcare, life expectancy has shown a steady upward trajectory over the decades, increasing from 67.6 years in 1991 to 65.6 years in 2001, 68.98 years in 2011, 70.23 years in 2021, and reaching a record 75.97 years last year.

Officials attributed the improvement primarily to targeted measures aimed at reducing mortality from non-communicable diseases. Kazakhstan has ranked among the top 10 countries in the World Health Organization European Region, achieving a 25 percent reduction in deaths linked to such diseases and successfully meeting key WHO program targets.

The positive trend reflects the effectiveness of state-led healthcare initiatives in enhancing quality of life and lowering overall mortality rates across the country.

Looking ahead, the government’s Healthcare Development Concept, extended through 2029, aims to further increase life expectancy to 77 years, underscoring Kazakhstan’s continued commitment to strengthening its healthcare system and public well-being.
