Philippine Ambassador Attends U.S. Independence 250th Anniversary Celebration in Islamabad

Islamabad, The Gulf Observer: Philippine Ambassador to Pakistan, H.E. Dr. Emmanuel R. Fernandez, accompanied by his spouse, Mme. Alicia Kalaw-Fernandez, attended the advance celebration marking the 250th anniversary of the Independence of the United States of America at the U.S. Embassy in Islamabad.

The commemorative event was hosted by U.S. Chargé d’Affaires a.i. Natalie A. Baker and brought together senior government officials, members of the diplomatic community, business leaders, and distinguished guests from various sectors. Prime Minister of Pakistan H.E. Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif attended as the Chief Guest.

In her remarks, Chargé d’Affaires Baker underscored the longstanding partnership between the United States and Pakistan, highlighting cooperation in areas such as regional stability, economic development, education, and people-to-people exchanges. She emphasized the importance of continued collaboration in addressing shared challenges and advancing mutual interests.

Prime Minister Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s commitment to further strengthening its enduring relationship with the United States. He stressed the significance of mutual respect, constructive engagement, and shared aspirations for peace, stability, and prosperity.

The participation of Ambassador Fernandez in the celebration reflected the strong and enduring ties between the Philippines and the United States.
