Twin Israeli Attacks Claim Lives of 29 Besieged Palestinians Awaiting Aid in Gaza
Gaza, The Gulf Observer: Amidst dire humanitarian circumstances in the besieged Gaza Strip, the Palestinian Health Ministry has reported that at least 29 Palestinians lost their lives in two separate attacks carried out by Israel while awaiting aid. The tragic incidents have once again highlighted the precarious situation faced by civilians in Gaza.
According to the Palestinian Health Ministry, the first incident occurred on Thursday, where eight Palestinians were killed in an airstrike targeting an aid distribution center in Al Nuseirat camp located in central Gaza. Subsequently, in a separate attack at a northern Gaza roundabout, at least 21 people were killed and over 155 others were wounded by Israeli gunfire while awaiting aid trucks.
Furthermore, in Deir al Balah, also in central Gaza, Palestinian medics reported that nine individuals were killed when an Israeli missile struck a house on Thursday. These devastating attacks have added to the already significant toll on civilian lives in Gaza.
In response to the allegations, Israel’s military has denied targeting aid centers, continuing a pattern of denial following such incidents.
Residents in Gaza have reported ongoing aerial and ground bombardments across the enclave, with intensified attacks particularly in Rafah in the south. This relentless violence exacerbates the humanitarian crisis in Gaza, where over a million displaced people are currently seeking shelter amidst the conflict.
The recent attacks serve as a stark reminder of the urgent need for an immediate cessation of hostilities and the resumption of efforts towards a sustainable and inclusive peace process. The international community continues to call for restraint and dialogue to prevent further escalation of violence and alleviate the suffering of civilians in Gaza.
