Oman and Iran Affirm Cooperation and Consultations on Regional Issues
Muscat, The Gulf Observer: At a joint press conference held on Sunday, His Excellency Sayyid Badr Hamad al Busaidi, Foreign Minister of Oman, and His Excellency Hossein Amir-Abdollahian, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Iran, highlighted the ongoing consultations and cooperation between their respective countries on critical regional and global matters.
Minister Amir-Abdollahian emphasized that Iran engages in high-level consultations with Oman regarding significant regional and global positions. He confirmed mutual agreement between the two nations on the urgent need to halt the ongoing conflict and humanitarian crisis in Gaza.
Speaking at the press conference, Minister Amir-Abdollahian also addressed the recent attack on the Iranian consulate building in Damascus, characterizing it as a new escalation of warmongering activities that widen the scope of conflict in the region.
In response, His Excellency Sayyid Badr emphasized that Minister Amir-Abdollahian’s visit to Muscat is a continuation and extension of the ongoing consultations and cooperation between Oman and Iran. Discussions are underway to strengthen economic cooperation, particularly in trade and investment sectors.
Both ministers reiterated the shared commitment of Oman and Iran to enhancing cooperation based on principles of good neighborliness, emphasizing their joint efforts to seek peaceful resolutions to regional issues and developments.
Referring to the situation in Gaza, His Excellency Sayyid Badr stated, “The Palestinian cause remains our primary concern, given the suffering endured by the Palestinian people due to ongoing Israeli aggression in Gaza and other occupied Palestinian territories.”
The joint press conference underscores the ongoing diplomatic engagement between Oman and Iran aimed at addressing pressing regional challenges and fostering constructive bilateral relations.
