President of Uzbekistan receives Saudi Investment Minister
Tashkent, The Gulf Observer: President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received a delegation from Saudi Arabia led by the Minister of Investment of the Kingdom, Khalid al-Falih on Friday.
At the meeting, topical issues of further expanding the Uzbek-Saudi multifaceted cooperation, primarily the practical implementation of the agreements reached during the visit of the President of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia in August this year, were considered.
Mirziyoyev noted with particular satisfaction the dynamic development of bilateral relations; since the beginning of the year, the volume of mutual trade has increased by almost 10-fold. 40 enterprises with the participation of Saudi investments have been created in Uzbekistan.
Large projects are being implemented jointly in the field of energy, the chemical industry, agriculture, the banking sector, telecommunications, medicine, and tourism. With the support of the Saudi Development Fund, a number of socially significant programs in healthcare, education and water supply are being realized.
During the talks, issues of promoting large infrastructure projects in the Central Asian region were also discussed.
The parties reached an agreement to accelerate the implementation of investment projects through the established Business Council.
