Pakistan Reaffirms Commitment to Buddhist and Gandhara Heritage at International Vesak Day 2026

Taxila, The Gulf Observer: Federal Minister Aurangzeb Khan Khichi on Tuesday reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong commitment to preserving its rich Buddhist and Gandhara heritage while addressing the International Vesak Day 2026 ceremony held at the Taxila Museum.
The event underscored themes of peace, cultural harmony, and global collaboration, drawing participation from international diplomats, scholars, and cultural representatives. Speakers highlighted the significance of Pakistan’s ancient heritage sites, particularly those linked to Buddhist civilization, as a bridge for intercultural dialogue and understanding.
The minister emphasized the government’s ongoing efforts to protect and promote historical landmarks associated with the Gandhara civilization, noting their importance in fostering tourism and strengthening cultural ties with the global community.
