Saudi Arabia Completes Preparations for Multilingual Arafat Sermon Translation Project

Makkah, The Gulf Observer: The General Authority for the Care of the Affairs of the Grand Mosque and the Prophet’s Mosque has announced the completion of all preparations for the Arafat sermon translation project, a major initiative aimed at conveying Islam’s message of tolerance and compassion to a global audience.

Designed to reach millions of people in their native languages, the project underscores the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia’s leading role in serving the Two Holy Mosques and its steadfast commitment to facilitating the spiritual journey of pilgrims from across the world. It also seeks to promote better understanding between Muslims and non-Muslims through accessible and inclusive religious communication.

As one of the largest initiatives of the Hajj season, the project will provide real-time translation of the Arafat sermon in more than 34 languages. A key innovation of the initiative is the use of Quick Response (QR) codes, which grant immediate access to both textual and audio versions of the sermon. This allows pilgrims, whether they are present at the holy sites or following remotely, to listen to the sermon in their preferred language.

To maximize accessibility and outreach, QR codes have been strategically displayed on screens across major facilities, buses, and residential accommodations for pilgrims. The service is also being widely promoted through official government media channels and shared with international media in close coordination with the Ministry of Media.

This initiative highlights Saudi Arabia’s ongoing efforts to enhance the Hajj experience through technological advancement and global engagement, ensuring that the message of the Day of Arafat resonates with diverse audiences worldwide.
