Saudi Arabia, Kenya Sign Four Agreements to Boost Investment, Trade and Labour Cooperation

Riyadh, The Gulf Observer: Saudi Arabia and Kenya signed four cooperation agreements on Sunday during the inaugural meeting of the Saudi-Kenyan Political Consultations Committee, reaffirming their commitment to strengthening bilateral relations and expanding cooperation across key sectors.
The meeting, held at the Saudi Ministry of Foreign Affairs headquarters in Riyadh, was co-chaired by Saudi Foreign Minister Prince Faisal bin Farhan and Kenya’s Prime Cabinet Secretary and Cabinet Secretary for Foreign and Diaspora Affairs, Musalia Mudavadi.
According to officials, the discussions focused on enhancing bilateral ties, increasing coordination and consultation on issues of mutual interest, and contributing to regional security and stability.
At the conclusion of the meeting, the two sides signed three memorandums of understanding (MoUs) and one labour agreement.
The first MoU, aimed at promoting direct investment, was signed by Saudi Minister of Investment Fahad Abduljalil Al-Saif and Kenya’s Musalia Mudavadi.
The second MoU focused on cooperation and mutual assistance in customs matters and was signed by Zakat, Tax and Customs Authority (ZATCA) Governor Suhail Abanmi and Mudavadi.
The third agreement established cooperation between the Saudi Export-Import (EXIM) Bank and the Kenya Development Corporation. It was signed by Saudi EXIM Bank Chief Executive Officer Saad Al-Khalb and Kenya Development Corporation Managing Director Nora Ratemo.
In addition, Saudi Arabia and Kenya signed an agreement on the recruitment and employment of Kenyan workers. The agreement was signed by Saudi Deputy Minister of Human Resources and Social Development for Labour Abdullah Abuthnain and Kenya’s Cabinet Secretary for Labour and Social Protection Alfred Mutua.
The meeting was attended by Saudi Vice Minister of Foreign Affairs Waleed Elkhereiji, Assistant Foreign Minister for Political Affairs Ambassador Dr. Saud Al-Sati, Saudi Ambassador to Kenya Saad Al-Nafie, and Director General of the General Department for African Countries Saqr Al-Qurashi, along with senior Kenyan officials.
