Iran and Tajikistan Sign MoU to Boost Security Cooperation

Tehran, The Gulf Observer: Iranian Interior Minister Eskandar Momeni and Tajikistan’s Minister of Internal Affairs, Rahimzoda Ramazon Hamro, have signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) aimed at enhancing security cooperation between the two countries.
The agreement, signed during an official meeting between the two sides, emphasizes collaboration in combating organized terrorism, human trafficking, and the smuggling of nationals. Both parties affirmed their commitment to deepening joint efforts in addressing shared security concerns.
Minister Momeni voiced optimism regarding the implementation of the MoU, expressing confidence that it would contribute significantly to strengthening security in both Iran and Tajikistan. He underscored the importance of coordinated action against challenges such as terrorism, narcotics, and organized crime, describing them as pressing regional and cross-border threats.
“These issues go beyond national borders and require a collective response. Our cooperation can serve as a solid foundation for fostering closer bilateral ties in security and law enforcement,” Momeni stated.
The signing of the MoU marks a new chapter in Iran-Tajikistan relations, reflecting the shared determination of both governments to maintain regional stability and confront common threats through enhanced dialogue and operational coordination.
